IRTECO was established in 1978 as a transport and economy research institute.

The experience acquired and the high level of development reached enable it to provide public and private clients with services and solutions of high technical/scientific value in the following sectors:

Over the next three years, we undertake to:

 

- Design and maintain a special section on our website in order to receive suggestions and ideas on measures that might be adopted so as to contribute to greater road safety. This section will be developed on two levels:

1) A public forum for debate on road safety.

2) An online cognitive/investigative/apposite survey in order to find out what users think about safety, with a certification system to ensure unambiguous contact. 

This special section should be up and running within three to four months.

 

- take advantage of our work contacts to go beyond our company responsibilities, contributing all of our know-how and technical knowledge in the field to encourage and promote, also on a planning level, solutions that prioritise road safety above all other factors. We will seek to raise their awareness about the importance of maintaining road infrastructure and signs (horizontal and vertical) in order to contribute to road safety and the consequent reduction in accidents and related injuries. Our efforts will be directed at raising awareness about the fact that, above and beyond the significant responsibilities of road users, a great deal also has to be done primarily by the authorities and entities in charge of the roads, in terms of road planning and in terms of road and horizontal and vertical sign maintenance.

Over the next three years, we plan to contact 10 to 15 public authorities or associated entities.
