Electronic Stability Programs (ESP) significantly reduce driving accidents, in particular side collision caused by skidding. - ESP equipment rate reached 28% (new cars equipped) in 2003. Our objective is to increase this equipment rate above 50% by 2010 in order to improve traffic safety. - Bosch priorities are product development by high R&D expenses and information initiatives (ESPerience) to the OEM and the car buyers. - ESPerience is a nation-wide offer in the European major markets to OEM dealers training their sales organisation on active safety, including test-drives with and without ESP, in order to support a positive decision for ESP when offered as optional equipment to car buyers.
