As part of its social responsability campaign for promoting and encouraging safe driving "Gentlemen on the road", directed to distinguishing the drivers, who with their behavior and actions contribute to the improvement of road safety, lowering the number of car accidents and fatalities on the road and help building up road safety culture, this year Generali Insurance will award the 10 best gentlemen on the road. In the beginning of April 2011 a commission composed of journalists, specialists from Traffic Police and representatives of the campaign will select the winners, who will win the 3 biggest prizes and the 7 second prizes. Everyone will be able to send their recommendations and proposals for best Gentlemen on the road. The initiative is under the patronage of the Minister of Interior, Tsvetan Tsvetanov and General Major Stoyan Tonev - head of Military Medical Academy.
In Generali we think every action is important and this is why we will accept any story or information about gentlemen on the road sent to us. This will be the place to award drivers who helped someone in a car accident, who reported to Traffic Police information of dangers on the road, who saved someone's life on the road. Generali Insurance has also planned financial reward to the best gentlemen.
This stage of the initiative will end with a general presconference where the winners will be announced and detailed statistics will be presented to the media and the society. The statistics will point out the most vulnerable groups of traffic participants, the drivers who are most likely to have an accident, the brands, colours and age of vehicles that have mostly been involved in a car accident and the groups who are most careful on the road.
The initiative will be spread through the weekly free newspapaer "Life and Health" with circulation of 150 000 copies and Generali will post all the information about it on its website.
In addition, after carefully examining the statistics of the campaign, Generali will select the drivers who are most careful on the road and offer them insurance discounts and special insurance plans.
