Dutch Brewers Association
Netherlands | Association
The Dutch Brewers Association is the trade organisation that represents the interests of 8 Dutch brewers. These brewers are responsible for the production of 99,9% of all beer brewed in the Netherlands. The interests concern mainly social issues like alcohol policy, sustainability, food safety and legal matters. The CBK operates in The Hague and Brussels (mostly by means of The Brewers of Europe).
Impegno
The CBK aims to improve road safety by contributing to the 'Bob campaign' (The Bob campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of driving while intoxicated)
of the Dutch Traffic Safety Association (VVN) through the following actions:
1) Making locations available
The CBK brewers are often involved in major music and sport events as vendor, sponsor and/or organizer. The Dutch Traffic Safety Association wants to reach the people who attend these events. Therefore VVN organises in 2010, 2011 and 2012 the 'Bob Summer Tour' with visits to major events. During these events VVN wants to raise awareness and make arrangements with visitors about Bob's role and assure that they have a safe journey home.
The CBK brewers will make strategic locations at events accessible for the VVN-Bob campaign teams in order to assure that the visitor will be reached and the Bob message will be spread in the best possible way.
2) Financial assistance
The CBK and its members will provide financial support to the Bob campaign.
3) Communication
As the umbrella organisation, the CBK is the contact point and encourages its members to contribute to the Bob campaign. The CBK communicates about the campaign to its members through the board meetings held six times a year in presence of all eight brewery directors, its internal newsletter, and annual reports. The CBK also promotes the campaign at international symposia.
