The Municipal Police Force of Polinyà (with 19 staff members) is the police force of the town of Polinyà and is responsible for exercising the authority conferred upon it by law and the Mayor’s Office in order to provide a public service that ensures townspeople peaceful coexistence, their enjoyment of rights and freedoms and quality of life by carrying out the functions as established by law in the areas of public safety, traffic control, administration and protection.
Impegno
We commit to the following:
- Road safety education in schools; addressing the prevention of dangerous conduct among children and adolescents, as pedestrians and/or when using bicycles and/or mopeds. All three of the town’s schools are to be involved in this programme each year.
- Mobility and Seniors programme; addressing the prevention of dangerous conduct among senior citizens.
- Road discipline: municipal police campaigns to increase road safety
- Increasing road safety (helmets and seatbelts)
- Increasing road safety (mobile phones)
- Speeding campaign
- Noise campaign
- School transport inspections
- Roadside drink driving inspections
- Improvement of infrastructure and traffic management
- Hierarchisation of the road network
- Actions in school zones
- School bus route analysis
- Introduction of new pedestrian crossings to prevent pedestrians crossing in the middle of the street in
order to avoid long walks
- Allocation of parking spots for mopeds on roads in locations that improve visibility at intersections
- Relocation of waste disposal containers to ensure that they do not block visibility for vehicles and
pedestrians
Our actions will have an impact on all 7,500 of the town’s residents.
