Association of Parents for the protection of children on the road (APPER asbl)

The objectives of APPER are to promote, create and organize any action that protects children against accidents on the roads. The actions include road safety courses in primary schools, the issue of our newspaper APPER Info, 5 times per year, interventions with local or regional authorities to improve signage or infrastructure on dangerous locations and awareness raising among parents.

Currently our eight teachers are since 1980 providing road safety courses each year to more than 30,000 children. During the next school year we will have reach more than one million children. We would like to be authorized to hire additional teachers.

APPER is committed to further develop its following road safety actions:

1. Raise awareness among parents - including the distribution of stickers and flyers on road safety themes such as the importance of the use of seatbelts and keeping school entrances free and thus easy accessible for children.

2. Publish articles on different road safety themes in our newsletter 'APPER info' - published 5 times per year.
