What problem did you address/are you addressing? 
National transport policy is based on the principle of shared responsibility (driver, vehicle, road), or partnership among traffic participants: vehicle manufacturers, institutions and organizations responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads. The latest research about belted habits in Croatia indicate on the different results in individual regions. For eg. in Zagreb are about 75% drivers and passenger seats usually belted. In other parts of country on front seat are only 30% of drivers and passengers belted. On the rear seats almost nobody is belted. The problem of safety belts on the rear seats is particularly pronounced. Some studies show that as much as 44% of fatally injured passengers who rode in the back seat could have survived in case that they used a seat belt. Additional important element is that back seat passengers in such situations often inflict serious injury to drivers and passengers.Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) wants to promote usage of seat belts proactively throughout Croatian territory and promote it to one of the most vulnerable groups - students in high schools aged 16-18 years who are or will soon become the drivers. For that reason, project titled: „KLIK-Kako Lako Izbjeći Katastrofu - How Easy (to) Avoid Catastrophe“is developed and will be implemented.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and other public institutions HAK will promote seat belt usage among youth (16-18 years old) nationwide and motivate them to become seat-belt usage ambassadors and pr
HAK has plan to demonstrate real-life scenarios via crash simulator and roll-over simulator to the same target group.
Project is planned to last for one year with possibility to use devices in future HAK activities, depending on HAK budgeting.

At first we'll create a list of high schools all over the country which HAK-CAC team will visit. HAK will there conduct theoretical and practical presentations on seat-belt usage. Also, we'll co-ordinate with Ministry of Education which is state institution responsible for high-school curriculum, preparation of materials, making a promotional video, purchasing for the crash simulator and tablets that will be used to conduct exit survey.

How many people did you reach/have you reached? 
Describe the characteristics of your target audience 
Statistically, children and young people aged up to 25 years are victims of traffic accidents in more than 30% cases and thus a most vulnerable group in population that needs to be addressed for further efforts and their protection. Project approaches two groups of road users, which according to the criteria of "youth" belong to the risk group: students of final year of high school and applicants for drivers.
How did you disseminate/are you disseminating results? 
HAK promote activities for secure vulnerable group in traffic - young people from 15 to 25 years • expand experience in professional meetings with Croatian organizations and institutions • promotion on Media Promotion Campaign (TV, radio, press)• transfer experience to friendly automobile clubs from the neighbourhood in South Eastern Europe and create a joint multinational program
