The issue of incorrectly fitted child car seats across the UK.
SHARE WITH US YOUR OBJECTIVES:
Raising awareness through our guides, website, social media and blog
Holding free car seat checking events across the UK giving free advice to parents, grandparents and guardians
Describe the characteristics of your target audience
Parents, grandparents and guardians are our target audience and their main characteristic is that they want the best for their children however they are not aware of the major issue that incorrectly fitted child car seats pose. No parent will purposely fit their child incorrectly and in most cases the error is a quick fix. We just want to make our information/service as accessible as possible so that every child in UK is sitting safely.
How did you disseminate/are you disseminating results?
We have a standardized car seat checking form that we have been using for 13 years which at the end of each year is submitted to TRL (Transport Research Laboratory). We have checked over 18,000 car seats and this number is increasing with every car seat checking event that we hold.
How did you evaluate/are you evaluating the success of your action?
We evaluate the success by increasing numbers of car seats checked and decreasing numbers of incorrectly fitted car seats.
Who carried/carries out the evaluation activities?
When did/will you carry out the evaluation?
PLEASE LIST THE INDICATORS YOU USE TO MEASURE SUCCESS
Total number of car seats checked
Total number of incorrectly fitted car seats
PLEASE DESCRIBE THE EVALUATION TOOLS YOU USE I.E. SURVEYS, INTERVIEWS, FOCUS GROUPS, ETC.
