Patiala Foundation Children Challan Book

Patiala Foundation has designed an Innovative Children Challan Book(#PFCCB) with the idea of promoting Traffic rule awareness in the young minds at the same time improving Traffic rule compliance among the parents for the sake of their safety and that of their families. The Patiala Foundation CHILDREN CHALLAN BOOK (#PFCCB) shall be issued free of cost to the Children of Class Fourth and Fifth who would hand out Challans to their parents over non-adherence of Traffic rules during a time period of one month. The Books(#PFCCB) having Challan options for various Traffic rules Violations would then be reviewed and the data shall be assessed to analyse various aspects of behaviour and ways to bring about a behaviour change. We therefore intend to improve compliance towards Traffic Road Safety rules by involving the most precious stakeholders that is the children who can be instrumental in bringing behaviour change among the parents and family members and also prepare them for future life while laying a strong foundation about good Traffic behaviour in them. These Children Challan Books shall be distributed in the schools through the Road Safety Clubs established and the members of the club shall be taking up this task of distribution amongst children of 4th and 5th Standard, after the stipulated period the challan books shall be collected bacj and the members of the RSC shall be making a summary of each Challan book and shall enter the same in the provided excel format which shall be collated and sent to the office of the Patiala Foundation where the summarised reports shall be generated and given back to the Respective road safety clubs and the data of Safe school zone and challan siummary shall be sent to our associate research team for evaluation purposes.Meanwhile using the summary of the challan book the road safety club members shall be discussing the same in the Parent Teacher meetings with the parents and getting an assurance from the parents to be more vigilant and safe on road.

If you work together with external partners, list the most important partners and briefly describe their role.
Volunteers:We work through our volunteers who take up different roles as per their field of expertise.
What problem did you address/are you addressing?
We all know that Children try and copy their parents behaviour in almost all aspects and same is the case in driving and when they are on road,in India almost all children learn road safety from their parents when they are travelling with them as formal road safety training is not taught to children as per part of the syllabus in the schools,so we establish Road safety Clubs(RSC) in schools and empower the members of the RSCs and make them aware regarding Road safety Rules and issues,The RSC members use our innovative Tool Patiala Foundation Children challan Book(PFCCB) and distribute to the students of class fourth and fifth which they use as an empowerment tool to challan the parents when they are travelling with them for any failure in adhering to Road Safety rule and then analyse the summarised report at the end of the month and the members speak with the parents for modification their behaviour and request them to be more responsible towards road safety.
