Sicurauto.it is an information portal owned by an individual (Claudio Cangialosi) which, thanks to the voluntary cooperation of a number of people (currently six) now provides information to some 100,000 visitors every month.

In order to raise awareness about road safety issues among our readers and encourage them to adopt appropriate driving habits, we will carry out the following specific actions over the coming three years:

• We will publish on the site a number of videos produced by RAI explaining the dangers on the road, debunking a number of common myths. The majority of the videos are taken from the “Mettici la testa” [use your head] campaign, but we will also publish films from foreign campaigns, avoidable accidents, etc.
• We will organise BOB/designated driver disco nights in order to raise awareness among young people about drinking responsibly. There will be discounts or prizes for those who choose not to drink or to stay under the limit and drive their friends home. Also, during these nights, people will be given the opportunity to test their blood alcohol level free of charge.
• We will create a mailing list and send e-mails to our readers once a month containing specific road safety advice.
• We will use numerous articles and a major online forum to explain how to set a good example to children to adopt safe habits on the roads. On average, there are 100,000 website visitors of all ages every month.
• We will set up a special infrastructure section on the website, featuring the best solutions for making our roads safer. The quality of the solutions will be judged by an engineer within our team who specialises in road safety issues. Also, thanks to the cooperation of the AMI association (www.motociclisti-incolumi.com), we will try to make use of the additional knowledge to select the best solutions. The aim is to gather data that can be used as a reference point by public authorities and contracting companies, so that they can use a dossier that will point them in the direction of a safer infrastructure vision.
• In line with the availability of school management bodies, we will seek to organise road safety events for school pupils on European Road Safety Day.
