PREVIENE Gestión Integral y Prevención de Accidentes de Tráfico

Spain | Enterprise

PREVIENE is a company based in Madrid. Its main activity involves devising actions aimed at raising awareness among and training drivers, in order to reduce the risks involved when driving all kinds of vehicles. It has five employees, and works throughout the country.

Commitment

We undertake to carry out the following actions over the 2007-2010 period:

  1. Undertake at least eight studies or reports on aspects related to road safety.
The topic will be defined at the start of each year. In principle, topics related to two-wheeled vehicles, pedestrians, distractions and alcohol will be proposed. Dissemination will occur through free distribution to the media. Studies and reports will reach the public through the media, as well as being accessible via partner organisation website and the PREVIENE website itself.
  2. Publish at least eight videos or manuals to be used for road safety training.
All of the material we create will be free of charge. Some of the material will target the public, while other material will target specific groups, particularly those that deal with the prevention of traffic accidents related to work. The number of copies distributed will depend on the partner organisation. If distributed jointly with a media entity, the minimum print run will be 60,000 copies; if distributed directly to driving schools or companies, 5,000 copies will be printed and replaced as used up. The topics will be determined together with the partner organisation. One topic has been planned on winter driving, another on the prevention of traffic accidents related to work, and another on driver positioning.
  3. Every year, we will carry out a travelling campaign to provide free driver training on vehicle safety measures. We will be targeting universities. Participants will be trained in safe reaction techniques in the event of risk situations, such as emergency braking with vehicles fitted with ABS. Exercises related to optimum tyre condition will also be included. For each campaign, we hope to involve just over 2,000 young people.

In cooperation with the Fundación MAPFRE, the European Automobile Commission and the Real Automóvil Club de España.
