Knowing the causes of road accidents is essential in order to prevent their occurrence. For this reason, I commit for the next three years to hold free training seminars for road users, offering the experience and technical expertise that I have acquired in the field of accident analysis and reconstruction.

 

The seminars will be aimed primarily at young people (secondary schools in Florence, schools in other regions and various associations), those statistically more involved in accidents, as well as those who are more willing to change their behaviour if they are correctly informed. The objective is to teach the participants about the main causes of accidents, starting from the technical analysis of real-life cases. Examples of technical and behavioural factors will be selected, chiefly related to the occurrence of accidents (for example, and in brief: speeding, braking distance, perception and reaction times, night visibility, use of seatbelts, etc.).

 

By illustrating the technical and behavioural aspects that have resulted in the accidents cited as examples, the participants will have an opportunity to learn about often ignored technical information, which will increase their awareness when driving. This will contribute to an increase in their ability to recognise risk situations and, consequently, to an improvement in their level of attention. All of this will enhance safety for the participants and other citizens.

 

The minimum objective is to carry out at least ten seminars a year over the next three years, with an expected number of approximately 200 participants.
