Commitment
The objective of the city of Poznan is to reduce the number of accidents by 20% over the next three years. We want to achieve the global goal by setting a series of minor objectives in the fields of infrastructure, user behaviour and accidentology. They are the following:
1. Modernization of the infrastructure
- we will improve the most dangerous crossings by installing at least 7 new traffic lights
- we will build new traffic circle
2. Improvement of road users' behaviour.
We will continue "Poznan Kids Apparently Best" program - purchase of reflective vests for children in kindergartens and grades 1-3 (quantity depends on the budget)
We will carry out preventive and educational road safety activities for children. We will organize seminars for primary school children (in collaboration with the police). During these seminars we will distribute reflective materials, leaflets, notebooks and books about road safety to all participants. The number is to determine.
We will continue organizing promotional and educational campaigns: The safe way to school, Car Free Day.
Generally, we are planning to reach about 5000 children with our actions.
We will monitor vehicle speed and other violations of traffic safety rules established by technical means of registration
We will extend priority areas for public transport
We will design educational and promotional Road Safety materials
We will provide tram and bus drivers with trainings in road safety and first aid
We will organize information, promotion and education Road Safety campaigns: competition for the best driver, using the advertising space at vehicles and stops, organizing open days at the depots, road safety activities during the inspection of vehicles through promotion of reflective, thermal blankets, an exchange of fire extinguishers, organizing free checks on vehicles in the Vehicle Inspection Stations
We will organize health festival with shows presenting road rescue, instructions on the first premedical aid, collection of blood in connection with traffic accidents, and other events

During the final stage of our commitment we will analyse the accidents in the city and make a presentation (power point) of the actions taken and the objectives achieved.
