Foundation created in March 2004. They focus on the improvement of road safety in Poland through promotion and popularisation of safe driving principles, education of children and youngsters and increasing of driving skills among drivers.
Commitment
By joining the European Road Safety Charter Fundation “Kierowca Bezpieczny” has commited itself to improve road safety on Polish roads. Today we undertake to continue our commitment during next 3 years carrying out following actions:
1. Carrying out research attached to the Pan-European project "Ten D by Night" that deals with the problem of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The project is being implemented in co-operation with the University of Turin, the University of Valencia and the University of Riga. Several European non-governmental organisations also participate in it.
2. Carrying out the European "3D-KART Project", whose aim is to have real influence on reducing the number of road fatalities among young people, who drive under the influence of stupefying agents, particularly alcohol. The project will be carried out in co-operation with the organisation "Responsible Young Drivers", based in Brussels and non-governmental organisations, signatories of the project declaration.
3. Carrying out the "3... 2... 1... Internet" project on children's safety in Internet. This project is being implemented in co-operation with Microsoft and "Nobody's Children" Foundation, and has the support of the Ministry of National Education. The project refers to the campaign on road safety education, which is conducted by our Foundation and consists in instructing children in all aspects of road safety and making them aware of existing threats.
4. Co-operation on the project to create the "Auto Mobility Centre" Consortium that would work to help the disabled to become active road users and move about easily and safely. Among the participants in the project are "SPiNKA" Association, Road Transport Institute, the Police and the Polish Motor Union.
5. Carrying out campaigns that promote improvement of road safety and participating in road safety outings as well as in various educational activities organised by schools and non-governmental organisations.
6. Supporting campaigns aiming at improving road safety, conducted by our partners in the commitment, i.e., the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Police, local Education Offices and other non-governmental organisations that deal with the subject of road safety.
