A. Maiuri Secondary School in Pompei, Naples, seeks to achieve the following objectives: develop an individual sense of responsibility in order to acquire greater civic sense, raise awareness about the correct standards of behaviour to improve use of roads, teach about individual and collective safety, teach about the respect of rules and signs, develop awareness of road signs, raise awareness of road hazards, teach about negative psychological behaviour in relation to humans and cars (narcissism, power instinct, mythicisation of automotive vehicles, etc.), teach about the main techniques for driving two-wheeled vehicles, teach how to control vehicle speed in different road contexts, and teach how to drive vehicles safely in different contexts.

To this end, the school undertakes to carry out the following over the next three years:

- Organise Road Safety meetings at the school with local police officers for third-grade pupils.

- Organise annual safe driving courses for those students wishing to take the moped test.

- Participate in practical driving tests organised by the USP in conjunction with the Italian Motorcycle Federation for students attending the courses.

- Promote the use of teaching material entitled "Practical advice for safe motorcycle driving" provided by Prof. Rinaldo Batelli, author of the "Sicuro in sella" (safe on the seat) blog (http://blog.libero.it/sicuroinsella).
