Denmark | Association
The Danish Transport Federation (DI Transport) is an independent business organisation within the Confederation of Danish Industries (DI). It actively seeks to promote its members' interests and to define and coordinate the political approach vis-a-vis decision makers, media and public opinion on a national as well as international scale. This includes the establishment of professional and personal networks.
The Danish Transport Federation works to improve public awareness of the conditions and importance of the transport sector in and for society. Road Safety is an integral element of the overall effort.
Commitment
The Danish Transport Federation will develop tools to enhance road safety work in terms of interaction between the carriers and their customers /users. The goal is a comprehensive web tool in the shape of an interactive and user-friendly platform for exchange of experience with road safety a. o., complemented with a brochure for the road safety work undertaken in each individual company.
The process is expected to begin in 2010 and will be based on a reference group consisting of internal staff, representatives of businesses - transport providers and transport users - as well as users of both personal transport services and freight.
The actual development project is expected to be completed by 1st October 2010.
As anchor for the process, in 2011 DI Transport will monitor, evaluate and seek feedback on the use of the web tool among the monitoring group, companies and customers.
By end 2011 the results of the evaluation will be published and improvements will be undertaken vs. the recommendations. Potential partnerships for the platform will also be considered.
The aim is that by March 2011 a representative number of members are actively making use of the platform to promote understanding and communication about road safety actions and issues.
As part of the Web project press releases and brochures will be published.
