Every four minutes a child is prematurely lost on the roads of this world. Many more are injured, often severely. Throughout the world, roads are bustling with people operating cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles, and mopeds; with pedestrians and other types of road users. Travel made possible by motor vehicles supports economic and social development in many countries and makes transporting goods and people fast and easy. Despite these benefits, however, motor vehicles are involved in accidents that are responsible for millions of deaths and injuries every year worldwide.

The campaign revolved around education and communication with Lithuanian people and different groups of society. Successful results and the increased attention to safety problems in railways inspired administration to continue its mission and expand it by promoting safety in roads as well.
Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (hereinafter - LTSA) continues to take steps to improve road safety in the Republic of Lithuania. This time LTSA decided to collect data about pedestrian’s and cyclist’s knowledge on road safety requirements and gave out reflectors to the participants.

In 1995 the Fietsersbond started with a small booth to organise a bicycle light check up in the Autum (changing summer to wintertime). Nowadays we do organise it every year in Autum in several places in the region. At first without any partner. In 2017 it was organised as a total bicycle safety check up. We did this together with the police, the regional road safety counsel, several municipalities, the national organisation preventing bicycle thefts and the ANWB.
I deliver a workshop to children aged 11 to 13 during their Life Skills Week initiative. After introducing a small but relevant highway code quiz, we spend time looking at how they can't effectively do two things at once (use technology and cross the road safely) and produce a Road Safety Policy for their school.
Within this project, teachers did non-formal activities involving students and parents.
