What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?
The action plan of Transport De Rese is to improve safety by carrying out the following actions:
- Implementation of the Safety and Quality Assessment System (SQAS) certification foreseen end of 2008. SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System) is a system to evaluate the quality, safety, security and environmental performance of Logistics Service Providers (LSP's) and Chemical Distributors in a uniform manner by single standardized assessments carried out by independent assessors using a standard questionnaire.
- All ADR drivers (transport of dangerous goods) have received a BBS training (Behaviour Based Safety). This training will be given to all other drivers. It will be an individual training of 4 to 5 hours per driver - 56 drivers will be affected. End foreseen august 2009.
- Toolbox meetings will be put in place in the course of 2009 for small groups of drivers on the following issues: safety regulations, tiredness training, traffic regulations own country and Europe. We are aiming at 4 meetings of 3 hours, concerning each time a maximum of 20 persons.
- Now ¾ of our Volvo fleet is equipped with Dynafleet. Dynafleet gives us the tool to follow each truck and gives us full report on fuel consumption, driving style, position, registration of driving time according to 561-2006 EN regulation. We plan to use this follow up to carry out Road Safety improvement and then evaluate the impact of these actions. All vehicles should be equipped by end of 2010.
