European Road Safety Charter

Interspeed Holding Company a.d.

What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?

In order to improve road safety in Serbia, South-East Europe and the entire EU, we will, in cooperation with competent domestic and EU partners, plan, construct, launch and manage the first Safe Driving School in the region, together with the appropriate infrastructure, driving polygons, sport driving school and facilities on the 620-hectare site in the town of Alibunar, 40 kilometres from Belgrade. The whole project will be undertaken in cooperation and coordination with the interior and transport ministries, drivers’ associations, local and municipal authorities and universities. We intend to involve insurance companies so as to make it cheaper for drivers’ employers to send professional drivers to the Safe Driving School for education.
This project will enable the implementation of EU standards and regulations on safe driving and road safety in the region and will positively affect road safety throughout Europe, taking into account the location of the school on the crossroads of European Traffic Corridors 10 and 7 and the expected participants: drivers from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Hungary (countries in the immediate vicinity), who are present on European roads on a daily basis.

As part of our commitment to the European Road Safety Charter, we undertake to carry out the following actions:

  1. As a part of the project, we will launch a continuous and far-reaching media campaign through promotional public events and conferences, business partners, and printed leaflets and promotional material to be sent to transport companies and drivers’ associations, including the relevant information on our website in English and local languages, in order to promote the European Road Safety Charter and all relevant EU safe driving regulations.
  2. In the first year, alongside the project development and construction, we will launch the promotional campaign, which will reach its peak by the end of the second year, when we expect to receive the first Safe Driving School participants. In the third year and years to come, we expect about 100,000 participants (mostly professional drivers) per year. From the second year on, we will periodically organise free promotional courses for amateur drivers, involving about 1,000 participants per year. Information in English about our courses will be available on our website.
