What problem did you address/are you addressing?
Employee Safety is high on the agenda of many multinational companies and they have a need to put a programme in place to protect their employees against work related risks. What is not yet understood by many companies is that driving for work is probably one of the biggest risk their employees face. Centralisation and globalisation makes companies look for one single and consistent solution across the globe for maximum efficiency and quality control. This is how VVCR can help companies to coah their drivers to drive safe and green. Next to this we help our local driver training partners to improve their training programme according to our methodology. This way we achieve a consistent singular quality controlle approach across the world.
What are your objectives?

Our mission is to provide the very best products and services to meet the needs of our clients’ fleet risk management requirements, while making a positive contribution to the road safety and environmental agendas.

Name of action

A comprehensive mix of driver and road safety interventions with an international standard. All international driver training companies are educated and certified by VVCR.
Driver Risk Assessment
Our online Driver Risk Assessment is developed together with Cranfield University, making it a scientifically proven and behavioural based risk assessment tool. Based on the outcome, drivers can be categorised into low, medium and high risk groups.
The Driver Risk Assessment focuses on behavioural and situational factors. A comprehensive report shows both driver and trainer the most important risk for an individual. This enables  driver specific training methods
It is fully scalable globally and is available in over 25 languages.
Driver Self Assessment
In addition to the Driver Risk Assessment, VVCR developed a series of (online) assessment tools together with CITO,  a Central Institute for test development, to make the training personalised, based on the individual training needs of the participant.
The online Driver Self Assessment creates an report of someone’s self-image, which indentifies the gaps with the DRA, which the trainer coach also uses during the on road training.
SAFE Driving - on the road
SAFE Driving is the actual driver training on the road, where the assessment results will be first discussed with the driver. Our trainer coach uses the results of the driver assessments during the training and evaluates these with the driver.
This defensive driver training on road, carried out in over 46 countries, are in general 3,5 hour sessions with 2 persons per trainer coach.
At the end of the on Road session, the trainer coach writes a Driver Performance Assessment  and the driver, based on that Assessment, a Personal Development Plan.
What’s so special? Our assessment tools enable us to target our traing interventions at a person’s specific driving behaviour and individual needs. And because these are international tools, they can be applied in the same way across the world.
Driver Performance Assessment
To assure accurate reporting a Driver Performance assessment is used by all trainers to report  on the individual driver behaviour  during the on road driver training. The report is also accessible through our online Driver Portal. If required, it is also available for management.
Driver and fleet risk monitoring
Our DriverPortal is  the online system to manage global driver safety programmes. It grants online access to Drivers to complete their assessments and managememt to review their reports.
More importantly, the DriverPortal can give managers an overview of risk, driver performance, colission data and fuel usage on several levels – country, business unit, department and driver.
This is needed to monitor the success and progress of the Fleet Risk Management programme, next to the opportunity to constantly be able to target new interventions and improve the programme.

How did you disseminate/are you disseminating results or how did you promote/are you promoting your initiative?
We are actively promoting road safety for employers in a variety ways (internet, conferences, exhibitions, email marketing, online marketing, social media).
How did you evaluate/are you evaluating the success of your action?
The results of each programme are measured and monitored through our online portal giving management insicht into several result indicators such as: ▪ Collision frequency▪ Colission costs ▪ Fuel usage ▪ CO2 emmisionsThrough the years we have realisedthe following outcomes: ▪ Fuel/CO2 reduction 3% - 15%▪ Reduction in collisions 6% - 80% ▪ Reduction in insurance premiums 5% - 30%
