Home

Tallink Silja Oy

What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?
The major goal of Tallink Silja’s initiative will be rising the awareness of the passengers on our shipping routes starting from Finland (Helsinki, Turku) about the regulations in the destination countries. We will advocate sober driving.

1. Information stickers on all our vessels car decks departing from Helsinki/Finland– on Helsinki-Tallinn route on fast vessels Star and Superstar, cruise ferry Baltic Princes; on Helsinki-Stockholm route on cruise ferries Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony; on Turku-Stockholm route on cruise ferries Silja Europa and Galaxy.

2. Stickers will contain the following messages in English: ”Don't drink and drive” and the allowed alcohol levels in blood according to the regulations of the destination countries.

3. Additionally we will develop the possibility on all those ships for the passengers to test their alcohol level in breath on their own responsibility. Alco testers will be available in the information desks of the ships.

All those activities will be carried out by the end of 2010.

Additionally to our passengers, also our employees will participate in these activities. We will inform the employees about the activities and goals through our internal corporate magazine and intranet; the employees of the information desk will be having additional training to give information about our initiative.

The duration of the commitment is 2010-2012.
