MyLAC project - jointly conducted by the Vias Institute and FEVR was to gain a better understanding of the range of consequences of road crashes for injured #RoadVictims. Our results showed that about half of the victims that were not considered at fault did not go to court and that a similar proportion of them did not receive any compensation for neither injuries nor for pain and suffering.
The Country Seminar andWorkshop on the European Road Safety Charter(ERSC) was held with great success on Wednesday the 21st of March at the Amphitheater of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport: The event was organized by the Road Safety Institute (RSI) "Panos Mylonas", ERSC’s Representative in Greece, and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

Numbers mean nothing to people but when they see the real people behind the statistics it has a huge impact. Each person killed, much more than just a number. We have taken our display to schools, road safety roadshows, companies, ploughing championships, outdoor events, and Houses of Parliament. In so doing we have helped to get road safety legislation passed which had been previously opposed.

Lockerbie Academy has integrated road safety in its educational programme, in physics through the themes of speed, velocity, distance and braking. Together with Police Scotland, students simulated road crashes. They surveyed parents and teachers about their awareness of driving in bad conditions and worked on a plan to assist drivers in different traffic situations. Recently we added a safe winter drive campaign where the Police taught the students how to do winter car checks and then the students went to a local supermarket and under police and teacher guidance checked local cars..
